Your interpretation&#039;s a bit different from what I&#039;ve repeatedly heard.

My understanding was the Army used &quot;An Army of One&quot; not to highlight the unity of the armed forces, but to appeal to the idea that each individual has the potential to be an Army unto himself---a very individualistic idea. If you recall the ads, you&#039;ll see that they usually focus on one individual, not on the collective armed forces.</description>
