The idea is that churches, and by proxy Christian believers since they are the church and Christ indwells them, should focus on transforming lives / habits / ways / minds / hearts and not just conversion. That is a excellent point and one that I completely agree with. Give the full post at Transforming Sermons here, Dan’s post here [...]

[...] That is the theme of a Dan Eledean post that Milton Stanley links to / comments on over at Transforming Sermons. We can say "Jesus come into my heart" a million times and it won't happen unless there is true repentance and a true change of heart. I wonder how many will stand before God on that great glorious day and hear "depart from me I never knew you." David Wayne makes a valid point when he says we have misapplied the concept of being born again as a moment, rather than a process. Gestation, rebirth, and then living out that new life in fear and trembling. The bible is written so we may know these things are true. We needn't be unsure of our salvation, rather we must be sure.

Something that tickles the back of my mind regarding the “one moment” concept, is that we are not saved by the sinners prayer.
