Personally, my own blog is all over the place. So I suppose my blog would be branded "Mindless ramblings and ruminations of someone who has ADD-oh, Seinfeld is on."
Excellent post (saw your comment over at Lost Genre and thought I'd say hello).

It's what we are know for, which is not necessarily what we might have gone after. Microsoft is a good example of a company whose brand stands for things they didn't intend - monopoly, sloppy, unstable. That happened by not paying attention to their brand. Companies that do are generally held in high regard - Honda, Apple, Dell, Sony.
We as Christians need to think about that. Everything we do and are is sending a message not only about us but about Christ. We are teaching the world, intentionally and unintentionally, who Jesus is and what it looks like to follow him.

Great post. I wonder why would you start asking 'What do you appreciate about Christianity?'. First you would have to find out what the person asked understands 'Christianity' to be. Here are some thoughts
a. A religion like any other.
b. Evangelical Christianity.
c. A codeword for Christians.
d. N. A.
So perhaps, asking 'What do you appreciate about the Church/Christians/etc...' would be more helpful but then I guess some unbelievers would understand Church to be a political organization, a social organism, etc...
I guess my point is that before barraging someone with questions we have to understand what those words mean biblically and make sure those whom we ask questions about are on the same page. Words have a meaning and common ground on their usage is required for effective communication.
2. I found this question particularly helpful -especially in the South- to initiate a conversation 'do you go church anywhere?'. That opened up a 3-hour conversation with a guy who was upset at religious church-goers and to religion in general. He was acquainted with the Christian message and repeteadly asked me 'so, do I have to ask Jesus to forgive me of my sins?'. Yet you'd have to hear his tone when he said that. It was a questioning, skeptical tone like 'ok, I do this, so what's next?'. Lot of hard questions he asked later. At the end he thanked me that we had such conversation. I only pray that his heart was refreshed with biblical truth and hope.
3. Once we clarify what we mean by 'it' in the next question 'what bothers you about it' we can buckle up for some good discussion. When I began my walk as a Christian, my disciplers ask my sister and I a similar question and the four of us agreed that we were disgusted about 'liars' and 'hipocrites'. So you can see that my sister and I -young in the faith- were longing for real relationships. Real devotion, real integrity, real church...
4. From my experience as an unbeliever I was not expecting anything from church people. To me all they were fake. But I was not seeking for real connections with them either. I was in love with my sin and I'd rather have them and their pamphlets ten miles away from me. Not until God rescued me from the pit and made me a new creation in Christ. And I am deeply grateful for that.
5. To end I want to say I agree with Dr. Mohler when we says that 'we ought to love sinners MORE than they love their sin'.
