My satellite Internet modem burned out this morning, so it’s going to be quiet around here until I get a replacement. Sorry. Since we’re literally the last house on the electrical and phone lines, I can’t even get dial-up to work. When the satellite’s down, it’s like 1970 around here. You know, “The Dark Ages.”
I hope to be back online late Monday evening. Right now, I’m writing this from our local library. Though I’m on quite good terms with the staff, I doubt they’ll let me camp out here for the next several days.
So I’m not ignoring you when you comment or e-mail. I’m just Internet-challenged.
Blessings,
Dan

Goodness, one more weekend like this and you’ll be sitting around a campfire swapping stories with the neighbors! I have often wondered, when things like this happen to me, about God’s sense of humor. You now have ample time on your hands to do all those things that you always wished you could, with no distractions.
Congratulations!
David,
Hmm. Right now, my sense of humor isn’t my most redeeming feature. I’d like to see a distinct shift from bad things happening to god things showering down on us in abundance. We’ve had more than our share of the former—and for more reasons than just a couple pieces of throwaway electronics burning out.
I can relate to your desire to see some good things happen…we have been in what I call “extreme problem mode” (one major crisis after the other, the most recent being my surgery to remove a brain tumor, of all things, and all the (YAY!) medical bills that are following in its wake) for many years. Going on 25 years, to be exact. Somehow we muddle through, and somehow God’s will is accomplished.
I wish I could help in some practical way, as was the practice of the early church. I will pray for you and your family.
I enjoy your blog, Dan. God bless. I trust He will give you the desires of your heart.
Holly
Dan,
I can’t help but notice the “irony” between this post and your previous one. So, what are you doing with the extra time?
-Alan
Alan,
What am I doing? Honestly? Trying not to worry. And some bum electronics are the least of it.
Hope you’re back online soon! I will be checking back, I’m a big fan! God Bless.
Hope this doesn’t sound trite, but I do hope you make the most of the down time. Peace.
