I think that Jesus means sacrifices like those of the old sacrificial system.
People still make sacrifices to the Lord. Consider the widow who put in her two cents—all she had. Consider Jesus&#039;s comment on no one having greater love than the one who lays down his life for a friend. Consider how we are to give our cloaks if someone asks it of us. Consider the entire idea of dying to the world and to self. This is where I&#039;d like to have a biblical scholor, or at least someone more knowledgeable than me weigh in. annual poll tax for temple upkeep
money to use roads
monety to cross bridges
money for sacrifices and vows
money for local politicians
bribes to soldiers
